It started, with a page.  Blank, empty....untouched  by human hands.  There I was, staring at it, helplessly.  Sweat dripped down my brow as my hands shook.

He was here.

He had been here many times before, but never for this long.  He was the scourge, the bane of my existence as I knew it!  But now I knew....oh yes, I knew.

It was His time.

I closed my eyes.  Slowly, slowly, the landscape became clear.  Thunder rolled over a grassy plain.  Lightning split the sky, and there he stood.  The rock stood jagged on the plain, and on top of it He stood, silent, watching over me.  I began to walk forward, drawing my scimitar.

He would rule me no longer.

He drew his great black sword, holding it in the air, as if a challenge to me, to my strength.  I raised my scimitar back.  The lightning shone off of His jet black armor, red eyes gazing through the slit in his helmet.  My armor felt heavy upon me, burdens of the past weighing down on me.

We charged.

Steel met steel, bone met bone in a crushing blow from both sides.  I turned and swung, he parried.  My hand met His blade, leather gauntlets providing enough protection to not have my fingers sliced from my hands.  I deflected His blade, tossing my scimitar to the ground.  Pulling out a nimble dagger, I went to work.  Dodging in the air, standing, on the ground, never staying in one place more than once.  I darted about, slicing and slashing.

It seemed to have no effect.

The Dark Night simply kept fighting, faster and faster his blade swung.  His armor began to rattle and quake.  My work had gone according to plan as the ties that kept His great dark armor had been slashed.  His armor fell from him.

Now, it was a fight.

I rolled, I dodged, His great sword whistled through the air, but could not catch me.  Bit by bit my penknife cut into Him.  Bit by bit He bleed great inky blood.  Finally, he fell to his knees from exhaustion.   I took my great Scimitar, and with an almighty yell of triumph, I slashed  off his head.

I opened my eyes slowly, to see the unblemished page filled with words.
